CANOPY ROAD CAFE – Restaurant

Jacksonville has two Canopy Road Cafes, one on Philips Highway and one in Mandarin, both keeping the chain's single shift: doors at half past six, last plates at quarter past two, daily. It is a diner at heart with a lighter streak, so the Canopy Road Special and country fried steak share a menu with avocado toast, a bagel and lox and a blackened Atlantic salmon plate. Rolled omelettes, skillets and specialty griddle plates carry the middle. Salads, benedicts and smashburgers handle lunch, with a summertime salad and patty melt among them. Coffee keeps coming and the tables turn quickly.
