Caribe Cafe Restaurant traces its kitchen to 1978 and is run today by the Alvarado family, with five Miami-Dade dining rooms plus delivery and catering. Start with calamares fritos, mariquitas de malanga, yuca frita or a tamal de hoja, then move to masas de puerco, chuleta de puerco, mofongos rellenos or the jalea mixta seafood platter. Flan and fresh limonada close it. Diners come back for generous plates, fair prices and warm, unhurried service. Spanish is the working language; the food needs no translation whatsoever.
