CARMELA’S – Restaurant
Dinner only, with doors at five, on Harrison Street in downtown Hollywood: Carmela's is a modern Italian room built around fresh pasta and a serious cocktail list. Start with rosemary and sea salt focaccia, the Nonna Pie of tomato and pecorino, or arancini stuffed with braised veal shank. The maccheroni section is where the kitchen shows its hand, from tagliatelle in truffle butter to pappardelle with duck genovese, squid ink conchigliette with octopus and clams, and caramelle filled with short rib and ricotta. Secondi run to branzino, veal scallopini and a porcini-rubbed ribeye. Late tables run to eleven on weekends.
