CARNE EN VARA EL SAMAN – Restaurant

A Venezuelan food trailer parked on US-27 in Davenport, open only at weekends and built around one thing: beef and pork roasted on the vara over open fire. The Parrilla comes full or half, roast meat or pork ribs or both, with cole slaw and a side. Cachapas arrive folded around soft Venezuelan cheese, or loaded with the same roast meat. There is Picadillo, a roast beef brisket soup, plus six-piece tequenos, a ParriBurger, artisanal chorizo and fries. Frescolita and Malta sit in the cooler. Saturday and Sunday afternoons only. Pull up, order at the window, and eat it hot.
