Casa Cubana Miami – Cuban

Nostalgia is the whole design brief at this Miami Beach Cuban house, which recreates pre-revolution Havana on Washington Avenue and keeps a band playing on weekend nights. Doors stay open from eleven until one, seven days. The food is straightforwardly good: grilled octopus with fingerling potatoes, shrimp al ajillo, ham and cheese croquetas, empanadas with cilantro sauce. Mains run to churrasco with rice and black beans, pollo asado in demi-glace, sliced prime rib eye, whole fried snapper, and paellas that scale from one plate to a shared lobster monster. Handcrafted mojitos throughout. Loud, warm, and unmistakably committed to the bit.
