Out on Mayport Road in Jacksonville's beaches corner, La Casa Leon runs a full-bar Mexican dining room built for tables that want a margarita first. Plates lean hearty: carne asada with rice, beans and tortillas; bistec a la diabla, ribeye in a house chipotle sauce; pollo loco under grilled onions; steak fries buried in cheese, pico and guacamole. Quesadillas are a category of their own, from the beef-and-bean rellena to a mushroom-and-beef supreme and a birria quesadilla served with consomme for dipping.
