A Spanish taberna on Southwest Eighth Street that treats the evening as a performance as much as a meal, with live flamenco on the stage. Small plates lead the way: pan con tomate, aceitunas alina, ensaladilla rusa, huevos rellenos con atun, calamares a la andaluza, albondigas en tomate, champinones al ajillo, salpicon de mariscos, and clams, shrimp and mussels in salsa verde. Warmer dishes take in lentejas caseras con chorizo, piquillo peppers stuffed with codfish, and ternera a la espanola. Chilled gazpacho andaluz cools things down. Diners consistently single out the room. Reserve for weekends, when the service runs late.
