Off Town Center Parkway on Jacksonville's southside, this Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen cooks the American comfort playbook from raw ingredients daily. The honey butter croissants arrive warm and disappear fast. Appetisers run to Santa Fe spinach dip, queso fries, Wisconsin cheese bites and hand-breaded chicken tenders stacked high. Entrees stretch from homemade chicken pot pie and country fried steak to a fourteen-ounce ribeye, baby back ribs, grilled salmon and Key West chicken with shrimp. There are hand-crafted lemonades, a Monte Cristo on the sandwich board, and the notorious Painkiller, capped at two. Doors open at eleven daily. Big portions, gentle bill.
