CHOCOLATE EMPORIUM – Restaurant

Chocolate Emporium runs a small storefront on Pine Avenue on Anna Maria Island, close enough to the beach that a box travels home the same lazy afternoon. Handcrafted candy is made fresh on site in small batches: dark chocolate almond clusters, key lime pie truffles, chocolate peanut butter truffles and chocolate-covered pretzels fill the cases, but the shop's calling card is its homemade salt water taffy, pulled and wrapped in house rather than shipped in. Visitors treat it as a standard stop on an island afternoon, picking a mixed box on the way home from the sand, unhurried, no shortcuts.
