CHRISTOS – Restaurant
Downtown Sanford's self-described grassroots family restaurant, run by the Cranias family, whose father opened the first Christo's up in Detroit. The kitchen straddles Greek and American: Greek nachos loaded with gyro meat under cucumber-yogurt sauce, spinach pie baked in crisp filo, avgolemono lemon chicken and rice soup, a six-cheese firecracker fried cheese, fresh-baked pepperoni bread and beer-battered onion rings. Salads run large here, including a Tarpon Springs Greek salad crowned with potato salad. Burgers, pizza and sandwiches can be ordered Fat Boy style, stacked with an onion ring and a fried cheese ball. Real food for real people, as promised.
