CHURCH'S CHICKEN #464 – Restaurant

This one sits on Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard in Clearwater, doors open at nine and closing at ten, seven days a week. Chicken is hand-battered on site and fried to order — legs and thighs, tenders by the three, five or fifteen with churchie sauce, boneless wings, a classic chicken sandwich, and a chicken-and-waffles plate built on scratch-made waffles. Honey-butter biscuits arrive warm and disappear fast. Sides cover mashed potatoes and gravy, coleslaw, baked mac and cheese, fried okra and fries. Sweet tea comes by the half gallon; apple pie or a fried pie closes things. Value pricing and no ceremony whatsoever.
