Chef Claude Sagne cooked nearly two decades in France before bringing his family's kitchen to South Beneva Road, and Claudie's still reads like a Montpellier corner cafe: French, unhurried, closing mid-afternoon. Build-your-own omelettes arrive with homemade fries or fruit and salad. Crepes go sweet or savoury, from sugar and lemon to smoked salmon with cream cheese and tomatoes. Croque monsieur and croque madame come under Monterey Jack and creamy sauce, panini in three cheeses, Roma or croquant, plus smashed beef burgers on bun, bagel or half-baguette, Parisien and gourmand baguettes, cod fish and chips. Catering travels by a vintage Citroen.
