Two decades on Siesta Key and still a scratch kitchen: Clayton's works Old Stickney Point Road as an upscale-casual seafood house, doors opening in late afternoon and running to ten. Starters set the tone, with pan-seared jumbo lump crab cake under mango gastrique, mango tuna poke on crispy rice paper, coconut shrimp, flash-fried calamari, house-smoked fish dip, P.E.I. mussels in Creole lemon butter, Gulf seafood chowder. Mains run macadamia grouper, grilled salmon, mahi mahi tacos, shrimp and gnocchi, Louisiana-style fettuccine, mojo chicken, filet mignon and an eight-hour braised short rib. Tuscan and margherita pizzas, wedge salads, and key lime pie.
