Burger King in Opa-locka, run by a local franchisee and following the template the brand has kept since 1954: burgers cooked over an open flame rather than a griddle. The Whopper is the anchor here, quarter-pound beef with lettuce, tomato, pickles, onion and mayonnaise on a sesame bun, flanked by the Bacon King, Original Chicken Sandwich, chicken fries, nuggets and onion rings. Breakfast runs Croissan'wiches, hash browns, pancakes and French toast sticks. There is a dining room, a drive-thru and a run of app deals that keep the queue moving. Cheap, quick and flame-grilled, which is really the whole point.
