COSTA MED – Restaurant

Two decades into its run in The Square on Crandon Boulevard, Costa Med reads as Key Biscayne's neighbourhood bistro rather than an island special-occasion room, though it handles both. The kitchen roams the Mediterranean and beyond: grilled octopus, chipirones a la plancha, burrata with prosciutto, pata negra tostas, steak tartare. Pasta is the backbone, with short rib ravioli, lobster ravioli, squid-ink risotto and linguine alle vongole. From the grill come lamb chops, veal chop and petit filet, sauced to order. A serious wine list, a family running it since 2003, and an easy, casually elegant room. Lunch weekdays, dinner nightly.
