COUNTRYWAY GOLF CLUB – Restaurant

Countryway is a public daily-fee course on West Waters Avenue, and its clubhouse restaurant works the same way: The 19th Hole takes walk-ins, golfers or not, with the course filling the windows. The kitchen is short and griddle-driven. Traditional wings come in honey BBQ, buffalo or sweet Asian chili; hot honey cheese bites arrive with sriracha aioli; pretzel bites get beer cheese. Burgers run a quarter-pound classic up to the smokehouse with beer-battered onion rings. There are cheesesteaks, a rye patty melt, a sweet and spicy chicken sandwich, chili cheese dogs, and a club triple-decker. Sandwiches arrive with chips. Unpretentious.
