Model trains run laps around the store while the scoops go out. Daddy Dee's has worked the same North Fort Myers address for more than fifty years and still trades on old-parlour habits. Sixty-odd flavours sit in the case: butter pecan, Mackinac turtle fudge, Kahlua almond fudge, spumoni, salty caramel peanut, rum raisin, maple walnut, plus Superman and Smurf for the small ones. No-sugar-added and non-dairy run alongside, raspberry sorbet to coconut almond fudge. Then banana splits, sundaes, floats, old-time sodas, milkshakes, giant handmade ice cream sandwiches. Brownies and banana bread baked fresh daily. Open two until ten, every day.
