DAN APIZZ' MAN – Restaurant
A wood-fired oven on wheels, turning out New Haven style apizza around Sarasota. The crust stays thin all the way to the middle, scorched at the rim, and eats lighter than its size suggests. Regulars point first at the tomato pie, then work through the white, the margarita, the pepperoni and the meatless Fugetabout the Meat. Dan builds every one himself and takes obvious pride in it, which is half the appeal. He parks at a brewery lot on weekday afternoons and joins the Saturday farmers market early, and when the dough finally runs out the day is simply done.
