DOCKSIDE WATERFRONT GRILL – Restaurant

Come by boat, bike or car, the sign says, and plenty do arrive at marker four. This is old Florida under a giant tiki hut at the historic Fisherman's Wharf Marina on Venice's north Tamiami Trail, angled at the harbor and the sunset. Fish changes daily. Start with tuna nachos built on sesame-crusted rare yellowfin, a crab and mango stack, bacon-wrapped scallops with maple, or oysters Rockefeller. Two chowders are made every morning, one tomato, one cream. Then the grouper sandwich on brioche, a catch-of-the-day reuben on rye, or cold-water lobster rolls. Live music, and happy hour every single afternoon.
