A Uruguayan parrilla on Bird Road where the grill does the talking and the starters come laid out like a picada: morcilla, Uruguayan sausage, sweetbreads, melted provolone, fried cheese, green plantains with chimichurri, grilled baby squid, shrimp in garlic sauce. Pasta is handled just as seriously, and the capeletis a la Caruso is what regulars order without reading any further. Milanesa arrives plain or parmigiana; steaks, fish, pork and lamb fill the rest of the board. Finish with chaja, the Uruguayan meringue-and-cream classic. Diners keep noting the portions against the prices. Rio de la Plata cooking, done entirely without fuss.
