DOS BOCAS RESTAURANT – Mexican
Named for the reservoir above Utuado, this family-run Puerto Rican kitchen has fed Central Florida since 2015 from a stretch of West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway. Start with the picadera: mini pastelillos, sorullitos, alcapurrias, fried yuca and queso frito with guava sauce. Then chuleta kan kan, churrasco under chimichurri, bistec encebollado, chicken breast stuffed with sweet plantain and wrapped in bacon. Mofongos come stuffed; the Montado Caonillas piles chicken, churrasco and shrimp in garlic cream on top. Asopao arrives thick with chicken, shrimp or mixed shellfish, tostones alongside. Sides run mamposteao, trifongo and breadfruit tostones. Generous, unhurried, unmistakably island cooking.
