On North Federal Highway in Boca Raton, Eathai serves classical Thai cooking with a modern hand, drawing traditionalists and first-timers alike. Owner Sopanut Sopochana immigrated to the U.S. at fourteen and worked up from dishwasher to general manager before opening restaurants in New York — Cafeteria, Sura Thai Kitchen, and Cafetasia — before landing in Florida. The kitchen turns out pad thai, papaya salad, and grilled lamb satay, with vegetarian tofu dishes beside the meat-forward menu. His son later expanded the family footprint with a Boca Raton dessert café. Diners keep coming back for the satay and papaya salad especially.
