El Sol De Mexico has held its spot on Cortez Boulevard in Brooksville since 2017, a family-run dining room built on an original taco-and-enchilada base. The current card leans into house specialties as much as classics: a homemade chicken tortilla soup, a shrimp-and-tilapia sopa del mar, and a birria ramen built on red birria broth with noodles and cilantro. Weekend menudo and Saturday pozole draw a steady crowd, and a rice bowl called the Texana stacks steak, chicken and shrimp together. Chile rellenos and a house Sol de Mexico salad round out a menu bigger than its small storefront suggests.
