Four Corners Chestnut – Restaurant

Four Corners is Lakewood's kosher bagel-and-cafe standby, baking through the morning and running hard until the lunch rush thins out. Bagels come in whole wheat, poppy, sesame, garlic and everything, by the piece or the baker's dozen, with lox, whitefish, tuna and scallion cream cheese sold by the pound. Omelettes arrive with a buttered bagel; there are pancakes and French toast for the sweeter table. Past breakfast the kitchen turns to tuna melts, personal pies, baked ziti, penne vodka, potato kugel and knishes. Friendly, unfussy, quick. A neighborhood counter that knows its regulars.
