GOLDEN LION CAFE (THE) – Seafood
Across the road from the Atlantic on North Ocean Shore Boulevard, the Golden Lion Cafe has been a Flagler Beach fixture since 1993 — indoor dining downstairs, an open-air upper deck with the ocean in view, live music much of the week. The kitchen works the raw bar hard: oysters, clams, shrimp, stone and snow crab, plus fish tacos, coconut shrimp, jerk wings and fish and chips in a light, crisp batter. Key lime pie closes it out. Diners come back for the deck, the happy hour and the seafood, and it has been a repeat winner in the Daytona Beach News-Journal readers' choice awards. Salt air included.
