GRINGO – Restaurant

A single window on SE 5th Avenue, a few outdoor tables, and about a dozen empanadas baked to order — The Gringo keeps its footprint small and its output relentless. The Argentine classics are there, carne above all, but the house has fun too: birria, mac and cheese, cheeseburger, and one named for Messi. Baking to order takes minutes and keeps the pastry from drying out, which is the whole argument. Fridays and Saturdays the window stays open late with live music. Praise lands consistently on how much filling each one carries. Small operation, serious execution.
