HELENAS COFFEE – Restaurant
Named for a grandmother remembered for gathering people around a table, Helena's Coffee keeps that job going on South University Drive. Mornings run on espresso and carefully pulled coffee, with a counter of fresh pastries, empanadas and sandwiches, plus fresh juices for the virtuous. It is a small family-run room rather than a chain outpost, open from eight on weekdays and built for sitting rather than sprinting through. Breakfast is unhurried and the welcome is genuine. Plantation's neighbourhood cafe, doing the simple things properly.
