Hungry Howie's on Nova Drive in Davie keeps things quick: order online or by phone, pick the toppings, then pick the crust. That last step is the company's own invention, eight flavored edges thrown in free, from butter and butter cheese to Asiago, Cajun, garlic herb, onion, ranch and sesame. Bases include original round, deep dish, thin and gluten-free. The wider menu holds oven-baked calzone-style subs, Howie Bread, bone-in wings, tenders, fresh salads and baked pasta, with cookies to close. No dining-room theatre. Just a pizza with a better edge than most.
