VICKY BAKERY – Spanish
Davie's branch of a Cuban bakery that has been baking to the same recipes since 1972. It started when Antonio and Gelasia Cao — who met working at a Havana bakery before emigrating — bought a small shop in Hialeah, and the family has run it since. The counter turns out pastelitos in flaky golden layers all day long, croquetas and bocaditos, sandwiches pressed on Cuban bread, and cafecito and café con leche made the traditional way. Custom cakes are made to order and catering trays travel to offices and parties. Fifty years, one recipe book.
