IL TARTUFO – Restaurant

Chef Luciano ran an Il Tartufo on Las Olas in the nineties, then spent twenty-five years teaching in kitchens around the world before reopening the name in Parkland. The room is small and carefully done, with shelves of imported Italian goods by the host stand. The cooking is regional and precise: cacio e pepe finished in a wheel of pecorino with black truffle, homemade ravioli of truffle and ricotta in brown butter and sage, Genovese pasta under a red wine ragu with buffalo ricotta, lasagna layered with pesto besciamella and chanterelles. Diners talk about restraint - no showboating, just Italian cooking that knows exactly what it is doing.
