JAM N CUISINE – Restaurant

A small Jamaican kitchen on North 56th Street in Tampa, cooking the way home cooks do: oxtail simmered fresh each day, curry goat and curry chicken, and jerk chicken marinated ahead then pulled off the heat to order. Plates land with white rice or rice and peas, cabbage and plantains. The week is short, running Tuesday to Saturday through lunch and into early evening. Regulars single out the jerk for tasting like the real thing and the oxtail for its tenderness, and they mention how little grease comes with either. Catering runs alongside. Honest island cooking, no theatrics.
