LA LEONESA FRITANGA – Restaurant
A Nicaraguan fritanga in Miami, opening early and trading late, where the grill runs all day and most of the food leaves in a foil tray. Gallo pinto comes soft and crisp at once, plantains caramelized and plump, fried cheese gooey enough to pull. Around them sit nacatamal, carne asada de res, pollo asado, pork, enchiladas and salpicon, portioned so generously that one plate defeats most people. Miami New Times named it the city's best fritanga in 2021. Central American cooking with nothing dressed up. Come hungry.
