LA MANTEQUERIA – Restaurant

Argentines in Doral treat La Mantequeria as a standing appointment, usually before nine in the morning. It is a bakery first: medialunas in the traditional honey-glazed style and a pistachio version, trays of facturas, croissants, empanadas and sandwiches built to order. Everything leans on the simple Buenos Aires idea that good butter and good flour need very little help. Regulars say the medialunas taste like the ones they grew up on, which in this neighbourhood is the only compliment that counts. Open Monday through Saturday, and worth arriving early before the morning pastries thin out.
