A hole-in-the-wall on NW 7th Street that opens early and stays busy, serving Salvadoran cooking to a neighbourhood that has clearly adopted it. The pupusa loca is the draw, stuffed with chicharron, loroco, cheese and refried beans, and there is caldo de res, chicken tacos and sweet corn tamales behind it. The room is bright, small and unpretentious; parking is a genuine sport. Diners keep coming back for portions that outrun the prices and for service that treats regulars and newcomers the same. Come hungry, bring cash, expect to leave with leftovers.
