A taproom with a real kitchen behind it, The Lazy Manatee took over a unit in the Gazebo Shopping Center on University Boulevard North and gave Arlington something it was short of. Craft beer from across the country runs through the taps, wine is taken seriously too, and the kitchen serves lunch and dinner rather than treating food as an afterthought. It is built for families - kids' area, wide aisles, no attitude - and the tagline says it plainly: where time slows and the taps flow. A neighbourhood room, not a beer-nerd bunker.
