LECHONERA LATINA 5 – Restaurant

Open from seven in the morning on McCoy Road, this Orlando lechonera runs on roast pork and repeat customers. Cerdo asado and pernil come off the tray all day; around them sit carne guisada, pollo guisado and asado, carne frita, bistec encebollado, pork chops and cod fish stew, with mofongo relleno for the hungry and sopa de pollo y fideos for everyone else. Empanadas, a cubano and a properly stacked tripleta cover the counter trade. Cash-and-carry Puerto Rican cooking with no interest in reinventing itself. Early, cheap, and consistently packed.
