An Allapattah Cuban room on NW 37th Avenue that opens at six in the morning and runs on volume — breakfast plates, cafecito, and a lunch trade that includes plenty of people on their way to or from the airport nearby. The kitchen keeps to the classics and does them properly: oxtail with black beans and rice, bistec, shrimp and salmon plates, all in the sizes Cuban restaurants are judged on. Diners talk about the coffee and the friendliness of the staff as much as the food. Unpretentious, and busy for a reason.
