Lox at the Museum of Jewish Heritage – Restaurant
Second floor of the Museum of Jewish Heritage, with New York Harbor, Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty filling the windows - and no museum ticket needed to sit down. Chef-owner David Teyf runs a glatt kosher kitchen rooted in Ashkenazi tradition and his own family's recipes: house-cured lox served five different ways, artisanal bagels, matzo ball soup, borscht, herring, blinis, his grandfather's cheese blintzes and a Minsk matzo babka. One of the very few kosher restaurants in Lower Manhattan, and one of the better views in the city. Go for the lox; stay for the harbour.
