MANATEE CAFE – Restaurant

A few miles northwest of St Augustine's old town, The Manatee Cafe has been feeding the area for years from a Westgate Plaza storefront hung with manatee art. The cooking is predominantly vegetarian and built on certified organic produce, grains and legumes, with vegan and gluten-free swaps offered across the menu. Breakfast and lunch only, nine to three, closed Wednesdays. Regulars single out the scrambled tofu, vegan pancakes, breakfast burritos and big mixed salads, and praise staff who take allergies seriously. Generous, unfussy, plant-forward food in a town not overrun with it.
