Maria's Tacos – mexican
A small shop on Pardall Road in the middle of Isla Vista, open from mid-morning to late and built for the way that town eats. The Baja fish taco comes with garlic-butter fish; the al pastor is properly marinated; the California burrito is there for the nights that require one. Portions land large and the ingredients taste like they were prepped that morning — two things students notice and repeat. Taco Tuesday has its own gravity. The owner's warmth is part of the draw. Cheap, fast, genuinely good, and open when you need it.
