METRO DINER – Restaurant

Tucked into the Mitchell Hammock Road stretch in Oviedo, this one fills up with families who have long since stopped reading the menu. They come for the Fried Chicken & Waffle, the meatloaf seared hard on the griddle, and shrimp and grits with enough sausage in the sauce to justify the trip. Breakfast is available at any hour — scramble bowls, omelets, croissant French toast, a stack of cinnamon roll pancakes if someone at the table is celebrating. Boneless wings and cheese fries handle the in-between. Southern comfort cooking, served without ceremony and in serious quantity.
