MEXICAN CARNITAS INC – Restaurant

A small storefront on Cleary Boulevard that quietly does more than its name suggests. Tacos come de lengua and al pastor, flautas de pollo arrive crisp under a load of garnish, and the beef burrito is big enough to end the conversation — but the menu also crosses into El Salvador and Honduras with pupusas and baleadas, plus a beef soup that only shows up at weekends. Breakfast chilaquiles, bistec encebollado and camarones a la plancha fill out the rest. Regulars single out the house green salsa and the owner's attentiveness. Authentic, generous, unshowy.
