Michael brought East Side Pizza back to Deerfield Beach in the old Umberto's space on NE 21st Avenue, and the pitch is unfussy: New York-style pies from a pizzaiolo who has been working South Florida ovens for decades. Slices, whole pies, calzones, wings, subs and salads, with gluten-free crusts for anyone who needs one. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays; the rest of the week it opens at noon and runs late Friday and Saturday. Delivery and takeout both. A neighbourhood counter that knows precisely what it is and does not overreach.
