A Pensacola smokehouse on North 9th Avenue that runs on counter service and conviction. Founded on September 11, 2011 by two friends who toured Texas, Kansas City, the Carolinas and St. Louis before opening, MISSION BBQ fills its dining room with tributes donated by first responders and the military, and pauses each day at noon for the national anthem. The board covers sliced brisket, hand-pulled pork, lean smoked turkey, jalapeno-and-cheddar sausage and fall-off-the-bone baby backs, with cornbread and scratch sides.
