Mocha Red aka Nome – Restaurant
Mocha Red shut in 2024 and the same owner reopened the Fourth Avenue room as Nome, a kosher Nikkei restaurant that runs Japanese-Peruvian cooking through a French filter. Chef Santiago Chiuz builds the menu around tuna crudo with tiger's milk, avocado mousse and passion fruit pearls, beef bao buns on hand-made buns, bang bang chicken, smoked bourbon baby back ribs and a grilled butterfly branzino, with premium sushi cut fresh daily by a dedicated sushi master. Grass-fed prime beef and a Cabernet prime burger cover the steakhouse instinct. Chic, downtown, entirely dairy-free.
