MONKEYS UNCLE TAVERN – Restaurant

Gulf-to-beach Jacksonville has plenty of bars; Monkey's Uncle has lasted since 1985. The tavern pours weekday happy hour from open until seven, keeps the kitchen running until one in the morning, and closes at two. Expect wings, burgers, shareable starters and daily specials rather than anything precious, with takeout and delivery if you'd rather not leave the sofa. The calendar is the other draw: bingo, karaoke, trivia, pool competitions and live music most weeks. Family-friendly by day, twenty-one and over after nine. Four decades in, it still draws the same loyal crowd.
