A small Maharashtrian kitchen on North Ronald Reagan Boulevard, built around one cook and the food she grew up on. Kolhapuri chicken carries the heat and depth that region is known for; panipuri arrives crisp and properly filled, the way the Mumbai street stalls do it; butter pav bhaji, dahi vada, chaat and gulab jamun fill in around them. It started as a takeout operation and has since added a little seating, though the room stays bright and plain. Diners keep reaching for the same comparison: this tastes like someone's home cooking, not a menu. Evenings, Tuesday through Saturday.
