Out on SW 8th Street, Nueva San Salvador #5 leans harder into seafood than its sister kitchens. The parrillada salvadorena comes off the grill for the table; there is shrimp ceviche, whole fried pargo, camarones enchilados, arroz con camarones, and a seafood stew in coconut milk that regulars order without looking. Salvadoran staples hold the rest of the menu — frito salvadoreno, chicharrones, tamal de elote, sopa de res. Portions are large, prices are modest, and the room gets loud after dark. Come hungry.
