NUTMEG'S – Restaurant
A Park Street corner in Okeechobee where the counter runs healthy eats one way and decadent treats the other. Order at the register: Reubens and Italian subs, a chicken salad croissant, chicken-spinach and pulled-pork paninis, Greek and beet salads, soups that rotate through taco and sweet potato curry. Then the case — cake balls, cupcakes, guava cream cheese pastries, mocha almond fudge ice cream. The room is a jumble of mismatched vintage chairs and knick-knacks, with a corner of refurbished furniture for sale. No table service, and nobody seems to mind.
