Out on State Road 7, the Royal Palm Beach branch of The Original Pancake House keeps to the recipes the brand has run for decades. The Apple Pancake is oven-baked around fresh granny smiths and glazed with Sinkiang cinnamon; the Dutch Baby arrives puffed, to be finished with lemon and powdered sugar at the table. Buttermilk stacks come filled with blueberries, bacon, banana or crushed pineapple, and the Tahitian Maiden's Dream is a crepe rolled around ripe bananas in apricot sauce. Eggs, hash and fresh-squeezed juice fill out the rest. Weekday mornings here move quickly.
